  • Vince is the son of boxer, renowned trainer, and California Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, “Bumpy” Parra.

    Vince had an impressive amateur record, compiling 44 fights and earning the San Diego Regional Championship honors in 1997, 1998 and 1999. He was also a two-time champion at the Mario Torres Invitational Tournament and second in the 165 lbs. division in that same tournament in Porto, Italy. Turning pro in 1999, Vince fought as a light middleweight in 11 fights over a five year span before retiring from the ring to focus on a career in training.

    From 2005-2007, Vince worked for the former WBO 118 lb. Champion Cruz Caravajal. Between 2009-2012, he was chief trainer and co-manager of lightweight Mercito Gesta, then rated #2 at the WBO, 6th by the WBA and 7th by the IBF sanctioning bodies. At the time, they challenged for the IBF, 135 lb. title, Gesta had a record of 26-0.
